Workforce In a Minute (WIM) is a temporary employment agency, focusing on matching highly qualified technical employees to the companies that need them. It provides employees to its clients based on the needs the clients have. The assignment process receives requests from customers (clients), and interacts with the Human Resources department and the contracted temporary employees as needed. The process is described below.

When a client company determines that it will need a temporary tech employee, it submits a staffing request to WIM. Upon receipt of this request, WIM must first evaluate the request. When evaluating a request, WIM checks to see what type of contract the client has with them. These contracts are kept in a file. If the client does not have a contract, if it has expired, or if it does not cover the type of services the client is requesting, the request is denied and a letter is sent to the client company explaining the reasons. If the contract is current and covers the work requested, the request then has to be matched.

Matching involves looking through the files of temporary employees in order to find some with the skills and availability needed by the client, as indicated on the screened staffing request. If no matches are found, a letter is sent to the Human Resources department so that they can prepare an ad and find someone to fill the needs. When a match is found, the resume details of the top 3 matches are sent to the client.

Once the client receives the resumes, they review them and submit the name of their preferred employee so that the employee can be contracted. Contracting involves sending a client-specific temporary employment contract to the employee. When the employee signs and returns the contract, it is filed in an ‘open contracts’ file. In addition, the temporary employees file is updated to indicate the company, date, and length of the temporary assignment for this employee. A copy of the signed temporary employment contract is sent to the client. Once the process is completed, the customer contacts the employee to schedule their work hours.
