You have found/read seven (7) sources and used some of the information to help you write your research proposal.  By reading the sources, you should also have understood which ones are the best in terms of providing you with relevant information about your topic and relevant information to answer your question(s). For this assignment, you will submit two (2) annotations. Therefore, you will choose your two (2) best academic sources (content & length). The first annotation will be uploaded to cuLearn on Tuesday, July 21st. You will then receive feedback from me by March 10th. A revised copy of the first annotation, as well as the final two (2) will be uploaded to cuLearn by Tuesday, July 28th at 11:50 pm. In addition to these 3 annotations, you will be required to submit a full reference list of your chosen 7 sources in APA style.

Follow these instructions

  1. Read each source critically (see links on ‘critical reading’ on p. 2).

  1. Choose your three (3) best sources. These would be the ones you find most related to your topic and most interesting to you. Keep in mind that each annotation must include an APA reference, overview of the source and an evaluation, so choose wisely.
  2.

  1. Evaluate your source: Is this a valid and reliable academic source and how do you know?  To answer these questions ask yourself the following: Who wrote it, what are they saying, where is it coming from, and when was it written or last updated?

  1. Write drafts. Draft annotations of each source and solicit feedback from a TA before you submit your first annotation. Keep copies of your drafts as evidence of your process-based approach to writing. As you write, do the following

    1. Reference: write a reference for each source using the APA style guide.
    2. Annotation (summarize, assess, and reflect):

      1. Summarize: Write an academic summary of the source but only focus on the sections that relate to your topic and/or answer your question(s) (paraphrase, do not quote) (use an introductory sentence, framing statements, transition words/phrases).
      2.

      3. Assess – source evaluation
