Task Description ·         This assessment provides students with the opportunity to design a poster targeted at nursing professionals, which explains the concept of cultural competency when delivering health care to the Australian Indigenous population

·          Demonstrate understanding of the concept of Cultural Competency

·          Illuminate related concepts such as: cultural awareness, cultural knowledge, cultural sensitivity, cultural safety & cultural

·         respect

·          Be submitted on a Power Point slide saved as a pdf.

·          Include references for images/graphics on a separate slide A one thousand word essay should accompany the poster. The essay

·         will:

·          Provide the rationale for the design of the poster, based on evidence from the academic literature

·          Define the concept of Cultural Competency (sourced from the literature) and analyse its strengths and limitations

·          Describe the multifaceted nature of culturally competent health care delivery to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
